In life, we face many crossroads that can decide our fate. When trying to find out what to do with the rest of your life after ending an important journey, the pressure to perform can be overwhelming. For Danai Martin, finding out what she wanted to do for the rest of her life was easy: become an entrepreneur; and that choice is starting to pay off very well.
Village X Garment Supply is an up and coming clothing brand based out of Sacramento, California. Martin was always into fashion growing up but was well balanced in other areas such as playing piano and softball. Her softball skills actually got her a full-ride scholarship to Creighton University in Nebraska. After her college career was over, the need to find another hobby was real. She always dreamed of owning her own clothing line so getting into fashion seemed like an ideal place to start. It took countless hours of research on business and entrepreneurship to learn the ins and outs of creating a brand.
The designs behind Martins brand are very unique to the eye. The inspiration behind each piece of clothing comes from reading books and stories about people’s lives. This creativity that was formed from these stories fascinated her enough to turn that into artwork. Pieces like the Candyman or Trippy shirt show that using your imagination can take you far in life. Customers have appreciated her clothing because it is nothing you have ever seen before. Going to events where you come across the Village X Garment Supply brand, will have you experiencing love and passion in every piece. Connecting with other entrepreneurs and other passionate young individuals is a task she looks forward to which goes a long way in this entrepreneur journey.
The future is very bright for Village X Garment Supply as they plan to become a major brand soon. Martin was always inspired by Ralph Lauren and Bape growing up so being mentioned in the same class as them would be an honor. The opportunity that this brand has created for itself has been a blessing for Martin and will inspire others to find their passion as well.
